D.U.I. PROGRAMS:
DUI LEVEL I - FIRST OFFENDER COURSE
Registration Now Available on the Internet
Purpose: Designed for individuals who have been convicted of one DUI or one DUI amended to Reckless Driving. (First Offenders only).
Mandated, per FS 316.192(5} and 316.193(5) with the level of education,( Level I, 12-hours, or Level II, 21-hours), determined based on the number of lifetime DUI/Reckless Driving offenses, per DHSMV Administrative Rule 15A-10.025(2). In addition to the classes the individual must participate in a one-hour substance abuse evaluation to determine if enough abuse risk factors are identified to require substance abuse counseling.
MAY BE COURT ORDERED for other offenses including open container-driver, or drug possession. May be DHSMV required for out of state convictions or to obtain an Employment, Business Purposes Only or Education “Hardship” permit during an Administrative Suspension.
Goal: To reduce recidivism by DUI offenders by educating charged and convicted individuals about alcohol and other legal and illicit drug use, substance abuse and the progression from use to abuse, dependency and addiction. The program stresses the physical, mental, social, legal and financial consequences of substance abuse and the associated impairment that makes driving under the influence extremely high-risk behavior.
Course Content

Effects of alcohol and other drugs on the mind, the body and the driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Substance use, abuse and addiction.

Overcoming denial by identifying patterns and consequences of substance abuse.

Review of Florida traffic laws relating to DUI
-
Review of DUI processes through the court system and DHSMV
-
Identifying alternatives to avoid future drinking and driving situations.

Learning about alcohol and other drug recovery resources available in the community.
Program Format:

Twelve hours of educational classes. (Two 6-hour classes or three 4–hour classes)

Course is taught by a state of Florida certified DUI Level I Instructor.

Teaching tools include lectures, class discussion, handouts, exercises and videos.

All students undergo a separate one hour psychosocial evaluation (one-one-interview) conducted by a certified DUI Evaluator.

DUI LEVEL II - MULTI-OFFENDER PROGRAM
Registration Now Available on the Internet
Purpose: State of Florida certified program, designed for individuals who have more than one DUI and/or DUI amended to Reckless Driving conviction in their lifetime; and
those who have previously attended a DUI school. May be required by DHSMV for reinstatement after Administrative Suspension.
Mandated, per FS 316.192(5) and 316,193(5) with the level of education, (Level I, 12-hours, and Level II, 21 hours) determined based upon the number of lifetime DUI/Reckless Driving offenses and suspensions per DHSMV Administrative Rule 15A-10.025(2). In addition to the classes the individual must participate in a one-hour substance abuse evaluation to determine if enough abuse risk factors are identified to require substance abuse counseling.

The Level II program focuses on overcoming denial on the part of the repeat offender and creating an awareness that alcohol and/or other drugs are causing major consequences and life threatening risks for the offender, those around the offender and the general public.

Limited to and average of not more than 15 students by DHSMV Administrative Rules.

Highly interactive course taught by State of Florida certified DUI Level II Instructors.

Teaching tools include lectures, class discussion, handouts, exercises and videos.

All students participate in a separate one-hour psychosocial evaluation interview conducted by a certified DUI Evaluator.
